The The Murgese Group Member Portal is run by TMG's officers for TMG members. This page explains what the portal stores, who can see it, and which outside services it uses.
What the portal stores
- Roster details from TMG's records: name, class year, induction date, email addresses, phone number, and membership status.
- Dues payments: date, amount, dues tier, payment method, and receipt number, from TMG's QuickBooks and the treasurer's records.
- What you add: your profile (photo, headline, company, city, links, and the rest), posts, comments, likes, event RSVPs, and your privacy choices.
- Sign-in records: login codes (stored scrambled and deleted within a day) and sessions (expire after 30 days).
- Logs: who looked up whose dues standing (kept 400 days), and who sent a private message to whom and when. The text of private messages is not stored.
Who can see it
- Everything in the portal is visible only to logged-in TMG members. Nothing is public except this page and the terms.
- Your dues amounts, dates, and history are visible only to you and to TMG's officers. Other members can see only whether you are in good standing, and you can hide even that.
- Your email address and phone number appear on your profile only if you choose to show them. You can also leave the directory and the member map entirely.
QuickBooks
With an officer's approval, the portal connects to TMG's QuickBooks Online company with read-only access to accounting data. It reads sales receipts, invoices, invoice payments, and customer names in order to record dues payments. It never creates or changes anything in QuickBooks. The connection keys are stored encrypted, and an officer can disconnect at any time from the portal or from QuickBooks.
Outside services
- Vercel hosts the portal, and Supabase hosts its database.
- Resend delivers login codes, reminders, comment alerts, and private messages by email.
- City suggestions come from GeoNames data stored on the portal's own server, so what you type there is not sent anywhere. If you type a city without picking one, OpenStreetMap (Nominatim) turns it into a map location; only the city text is sent.
- Intuit QuickBooks, as described above.
TMG does not sell or share member information, show ads, or use tracking cookies. The only cookie is the one that keeps you logged in.
Your choices
You can edit or clear your profile, delete your posts and comments, and change your privacy settings at any time. To correct your roster details or payment records, or to ask for your information to be removed, email cgrantweathers@gmail.com.
